Taking a Bite out of Dracula

February 27, 2010 § Leave a comment

Welcome to my final day of Winter 2010 guest blogging for Mooney Mountain Guides. We headed up to Frankenstein Cliffs at Crawford Notch today to climb Dracula. Dracula is one of the great routes at Frankenstein, forever immortalized on the cover of the book “The Ice Climber’s Guide to Northern New England.” It is a great, steep and classic route that is currently in fantastic shape. It was a blustery New Hampshire day with intermittent snowfall but reasonable temperatures. We did both the left and right sides of Dracula and then finished the day off with a quick spin up Standard route to the cave route belay.
