Skiing the Cog to the summit of Mt Washington.

Today was a perfect day on Mt Washington. Tim and I arranged a ski day some time back, we never dreamed the conditions and weather would be so favorable. We arrived at the cog parking lot at 8 am and ran into Steve who have a similar plan for the day, we joined up as a team of three. Conditions looked awesome, the weather was bluebird, and we were excited to skin to the summit.

The ski track was broken with a bit a fresh snow on top, we made quick progress up to the halfway house.

The skin track was windblown above Jacobs Ladder, we took advantage of the cog tracks to continue our climb.
Steve and Tim getting close to the top, note the summit building encased in snow.
Tim arriving at the summit. The climb was quick at 3 hours – 10 minutes.
The ski down was awesome. A variety of conditions were sampled but the ski was mostly good dry snow on a smooth surface.

It was a great day on the hill. We all enjoyed our first total ski up to the summit, with the same on the descent. Conditions are not this way very often, get out there soon and Access the Goods.
