Lake Willoughby

January 22, 2011 § Leave a comment

The early morning light starts to warm up the ice. This day was calm, the temps were in the high teens which made for some very nice climbing conditions at Lake Willoughby. Jerry and I enjoyed climbing a variety of steep ice lines at the Tablet area. The Tablets are very wide and we climbed three independent two pitch lines. We only saw a couple of other climbers this mid week day.

A view from the road of the west face.

Twenty Below area.
Jerry topping out on our first route.
Full conditions here – water was running, spindrift and a mid day snowsqual added to the excitement of the day.
The golden glow of the afternoon light was spectacular.
A great day at the Lake,
Thanks Jerry
